Riders Win in Bemidji

The Red River Boys team used another strong all-around performance to win the Bemidji Lion’s Invite on Tuesday. Senior Mo Kamara, fresh off his Delmore Decathlon win last week, was named Athlete of the Meet after recording first place finishes in the 60 Hurdles (8.55), high jump (6’0), 4×200 Relay (1:37.36), and a third place finish in the triple jump (39’4).

Other highlights included the season’s first two state qualifiers:

  • Senior Ty Boucher- 3200m (9:59.92)
  • Junior Daniel Pierce- Javelin Throw (171’11)**Daniel’s throw moves him to #10 All-Time in one of the most tradition-rich events at Red River.

Freshman Carlos Horcacitas also impressed with a new freshman record of 20’3.75″ in the long jump.

In total, the Red River Boys saw seven event wins and a number of athletes step up to provide depth across all event areas. Next up is the State Indoor at NDSU on Friday, April 1.
