GF Herald story-“Red River jumpers keep pushing the limit

The 2017 Outdoor season began Thursday on a beautiful afternoon/evening at Cushman Field. With balance and numbers across all events, the Red River boys extended their RR vs. GFC Dual winning streak to nine. The final point totals read: RR-891.5/GFC-405.5.

Switching to the outdoor season means that performances can finally be counted for  state qualifying purposes (2017 Standards). In total, six athletes have punched their tickets to Bismarck in four different events.

For several athletes, this was their first time competing on the outdoor track or at a meet in general. It’s easy to recognize event winners, but it’s also important to remember in a sport like track and field that a lot of people competed as hard as they could and the coaching staff saw great things from many athletes (too many to name). Keep working hard everyone. Your efforts are appreciated and noticed. Cushman Field plays host to another meet on Tuesday, with events set to begin at 2:00 PM.
