Bring healthy snacks and money. If there is time, we will stop to eat after the meet.
Team Camps: Located in the Fargo Arena.
Bathrooms: Teams may use the bathrooms in the Arena to change, but they should use port-a-potties or the stadium restrooms for bathroom needs.
Awards: Individual medals for top 8 places and medals to all team members on top 4 relay teams. Awards can be picked up following the meet.
Spikes: ¼ “ pyramid spikes only; no needle spikes
Admission: $6 Adults $4 students
Minimum heights and performances will be reviewed at the coaches meeting.
Throwing Event Instructions:
o We will have 3 attempts in the throws with the top 9 advancing to finals for 3 more attempts.
o Shot Put, Discus, and Javelin will mark the first attempt, move the mark with any improvements,
and measure each competitor’s best attempt at the conclusion of each flight.
o All but the top flight in shot put and discus will have a competitor taking back to back attempts.
o Javelin will rotate and take single throws in all flights. If the conditions warrant it, we may move
the approach after the first session.
High Jump / Pole Vault Instructions:
o HJ and PV will have 15 minutes to return to their event after checking out to run.
o The “5 alive” method will be used for pole vault and high jump.
Jumpers must measure and set marks upon arrival, especially in the horizontal jumps. Once
competition starts, there will be no measuring. In between genders, there will be 20 minutes for
warmups and run throughs for everybody. In between flights for horizontal jumps, we will allow 1
extra run through.
Long Jump/Triple Jump Instructions:
o We will be flexible on flights for jumpers participating in running events if needed. Communicate
with event judge.
o Top 9 seeds will jump in the first flight.
o Any jumper in any flight that achieves a performance standard will receive 3 more jumps. This will
replace finals. Additional jumps performance standards:
Girls LJ – 15’ Boys LJ – 20’ Girls TJ – 33’ Boys TJ – 40’
o Additional jumps should be taken within the flight, but if other events conflict, jumps may be taken
during a later flight. Communicate with event judge.
o After the first flight, athletes will be flighted by school with two per flight.
