EDC Indoor Champs!
For the 9th time in program history and the first since 2013, the Red River Boys are the EDC Indoor Champions. The Riders piled up points in bunches, with hurdles, jumps, and distance leading the way. Zimney’s Hurdle Army continued its assault on the competition, placing all five athletes in the Top-8 and racking up an astounding 30 points. Most impressive was the fact they ran without last week’s State Indoor Champion, Mo, who did not compete Friday.

2. Tyler Enerson-8.86
3. Parker Wenzel-8.91 (SB)

The PR’s continued to drop for Coach Dafoe’s D-Crew, which placed three in the 1600m and four in the 3200m. Ben Hutchison’s Indoor School Record from the State Indoor only lasted one week, as senior Ty Boucher took it away with a new indoor PR of 9:53.68 to finish in 2nd Place. Hutchison, Dalton Byrne, and Tim Dunham also ran new PR’s and placed. Jake Arason also posted a season best and looks to carry that momentum outdoors. In the 1600m, Boucher, Hutchison, and Will Valentine all ran PR’s and found themselves in the Top-8, with Boucher leading the charge in 2nd. Cole Stenseth also broke the 5-Minute Barrier for the first time in a great effort. The 4x800m Relay team of Parker Carroll, Byrne, Tyler Braunhausen, and Marcelles Sartwell also ran well and finished in 5th Place. Clearly, there must be something in the pancakes they have after the Saturday morning long runs at See Dick Run.

Coach Delmore’s jumpers proved once again they are a force to be reckoned with this season. RR had four place in the Triple Jump, three in the High Jump, two in the long jump, and two in the pole vault. The ever-consistent Devon Pope won another triple jump title and placed in the long jump, while up and coming Carlos Horcacitas extended his Freshman School Record in the Triple Jump with a huge 42’6 leap. Lead by junior Tyler Enerson, high jumpers placed 3-4-5 for another great day at the pits. The big story here was 7th-Grader George Nyanforh, who competed in his first meet after placing 5th overall in the Delmore Decathlon a two weeks earlier. George placed in the high jump and triple jump and just missed finals in the long jump. Coach Lloyd’s vaulters have been improving rapidly all season and made some big gains here. Junior Alex Holmes hit the 13’ mark for the first time and finished in 2nd. He also added a 4th Place High Jump and 7th Place Triple Jump finish to complete a great day of jumping. Newcomer Kishen Patel continues to make big improvements, clearing 10’6 to finish in 7th Place.
