Boys Win at Milaca, Stay 5th in Poll #6

  • September 27, 2017

For the first time since 2012, the Red River boys won the Milaca Mega Meet on Saturday. Competing in the 3A division, the boys placed 6 athletes in the top 20 to score 59 points, ahead of Austin (79) and Hutchinson (89). Held annually at the Stones Throw Golf Course in Milaca, MN, the Mega Meet is the World’s Largest High School Cross Country Meet. In 2017, just shy of 5,000 athletes competed in races from 3200m to 5000m. Other highlights for the Riders included a first-place finish from the 7th grade boys team, as well as an individual title from Emily Nelson in the 7th grade girls race. A long day, but always a season highlight for the team!
